About Waverly Carbon

Waverly Carbon has unlocked the end-of-life tyre (ELT) supply chain by mastering its most challenging stage: refining pyrolysis char into recovered carbon black. We are an independently recognised, global leader in high-value rCB production, carbon black characterisation and rubber formulation and compounding. Our expertise enables us to deliver consistent quality and performance across our product range.

Our mission is to advance circularity, decarbonisation, sustainability, and supply security in the rubber, plastics, inks, and coatings industries. Our objective is to help companies reduce their carbon footprint, source materials locally, and strengthen their supply chains.

Our distribution strategy covers an extensive group of European companies, spanning sectors such as tyre manufacturing, plastic masterbatch, mechanical rubber goods, and construction. We guide customers through the technical adoption process with product samples, formula recommendations, laboratory testing, and factory trials to demonstrate stable performance and measurable, sustainable impact.

Market Opportunities

The rCB and tyre pyrolysis sector is growing rapidly. Global virgin carbon black demand exceeds 15 million tonnes annually, while the EU generates around 4.2 million end-of-life tyres each year—providing ample feedstock for recycling. Major tyre manufacturers, representing roughly 80% of the market, are driving demand for rCB and tyre pyrolysis oil (TPO).

EU legislation, including the RED III Directive and the Circular Economy Act, is accelerating adoption by restricting waste tyre exports and promoting recycled-content and decarbonisation. Tyres sit at the intersection of waste regulation, critical raw materials, and circularity targets, positioning rCB as a crucial solution for a lower-carbon future.

These factors – regulatory trends, abundant feedstock, and strong market demand – are driving rapid growth in tyre pyrolysis and its outputs, reinforcing Waverly Carbon’s role as a leader in circular, sustainable materials.

Emerald is our strategic response to this market opportunity. As our next-generation recovered Carbon Black brand, Emerald is independently verified for exceptional reinforcing properties and vibrant coloration. Offered at a lower price point than traditional virgin carbon blacks, it delivers immediate cost benefits to customers and positions us to capture significant market share.

As a first mover in rCB sales, we hold a clear competitive advantage and are pursuing a technology patent to protect our proprietary processes. Utilising char derived from pyrolysed, pre-segregated end-of-life tyres, we produce high-quality rCB suitable for demanding applications, enabling us to fully capitalise on this growing market.
